I bought Acclaim’s insane racing game Burnout the other day, only to discover when I got home with it that I’d won that very title in a competition! Fantastic!
This coming Sunday I have to visit Acclaim’s HQ here in London to play against nine other winners for the chance to win a PS2, DVD player and a widescreen TV. Amazing!
With a bit of luck, Christmas could come early this year.
I’ve never been an Alumni before… at least, not that I can think of, so it was with great anticipation I attended the Interactive Investor International Alumni party on Friday night just passed.
It turned out to be all I had hoped for – mingling with faces from the past whose names I could vaguely remember made for a very entertaining night! Not to mention a lady by the name of Louisa Calvo who spent her evening blending into the background and characaturing folk as they sipped their champagne. Strangely, my sketch looked slightly more handsome than I do in real life… I thought it was supposed to be the opposite?!
Well, today I received the non-shock news that I’ve been made redundant. The loss of clients over the past year has brought the end result that the New Media department is to be shut down from the end of the month.
Well, that’s fabulous news to take into christmas, isn’t it!?
