XAMPP

Having recently become the proud owner of a new, kick–ass Evesham laptop, I needed to get WAMP set–up on it so I could do some development work. Although I’ve tackled getting the individual elements installed many times over in the past, it’s hardly a task I look forward to. So it was with great satisfaction that I discovered the XAMPP package, which installs all the key web development components you could ever need from one download. I opted for the light version, as I only really needed php, MySQL and Apache, and was very impressed with the fact that it worked exactly as advertised.

The mirth is strong with this one

Check out this Parade of unfortunate Star Wars costumes. It’s almost as funny as that video of Triumph, the insulting comic dog, interviewing the line of Star Wars fans as they queued for one of the earlier prequels.

I’m not really fussed about whether I see the latest one or not. I seen the first prequel in the cinema with my little brother Andrew, and that was pretty grim, so I made a point of avoiding the second one. Dunno, I guess I’ve just kind of made my peace with the fact that George Lucas doesn’t have a clue and that the original Trilogy were accidental classics.
