I’ve just been refused a mortgage payment break by Egg because our circuimstances fail to meet one part of the criteria – our house has not gained as much as expected in value since they gave us the mortgage.
For some reason, being a loyal customer for almost a decade, never missing a payment on my Egg Visa card, paying off and never missing a single payment on two seperate Egg loans, and never being late with or missing a mortgage payment in three and a half years do not count enough in my favour for them to allow me a two month payment holiday.
What the hell is that all about?
Would they rather I spiral into a complete financial disaster to the point where they move to repossess the house?
It would seem that that is the case.
