Rather late to the party, I found out via a post on iPioneer that Gazerk – a search engine for video games – has launched in beta form.
It seems to work, too – looking for “Indy Heat”, an early 90’s Amiga game in the Supersprint mould, I got a bunch of good results for what is a little known title that I absolutely loved. Gazerk could prove to be very useful indeed. 😀
Whist reading through the articles at A List Apart I came across this one on Making Compact Forms More Accessible, which explains how to go to a whole lot of trouble to create labels for username and password fields in a compact login form. The effect is good, but the reams of CSS and JavaScript needed to accomplish it are a little bloated, I think.
I wasn’t entirely surprised to read Lisa’s post about morons shouting in the street, especially after the grim events in Liverpool while we’d been away for a week.
As it’s only a year and a half since some hoodies blew up the phonebox down the road from us, it would seem that shouting in the street must now rank pretty low on the crime scale in Liverpool when you have kids shooting each other and pub doormen getting fired upon.
Mentally I’ve already checked out of this city and physically I want out as soon as we can arrange it, which will probably be some time during Liverpool’s reign as City of Culture 2008. Drips with irony, that does.
